Didcot Cycling Meeting

I have organised an open meeting on Wednesday 11th February to discuss cycling in Didcot.

There is a lot of development planned in Didcot but they are all individual developer projects and there is a lack of overall plan for cycling.

HarBUG has been active in responding to consultations and planning applications over the years but I think there is now a need for all Didcot cyclists to stand up and be heard.

Before Christmas I attended a presentation of plans for the Orchard Centre phase 2 and the Station Gateway Site. Neither project had included cycle routes across their sites. Taken the two projects together this would create a North / South barrier and block any chance of future cross Didcot cycle routes. This example illustrates the problem that developers are only looking at their own area and not the bigger picture, although to be fair there is no bigger picture.

If you cycle from Didcot to the Campus please come along to the meeting and join in the discussion to get a good deal for Didcot’s (and HarBUG) cyclists.

The meeting will be held in the Ladygrove Room of Didcot Civic Centre at 6:30pm on Wednesday 11th February.
