    How about 1730 on 24/08/22? It would give most of us a chance to get changed etc.

    Hiya Mike,

    I’m not aware of any group rides as of right now. I’m a mostly XC mountain biker who dabbles in pretty much anything on two wheels and would definitely be up for some regular rides. Mon/Weds/Fri are usually possible for me.

    I’ve lived in the area for a few years so have a reasonable knowledge of trails.

    As mentioned by a couple of others a few things you can do;

    Schwalbe Marathon (or Marathon Plus) Tires – not performance oriented but pretty hard to kill
    Slime/sealant filled inner tubes
    Make sure your tires are inflated above the minimum listed on the tire sidewall.

    Thanks everyone for your feedback. Some interesting options to try once it gets slightly less horrifically moist.

    Good to know that Gravel Track is out of bounds, I got a bit confused by the bridleway combined with private signs. On closer inspection I can see the bridleway goes up left (which I might give a bash at next time).

    Standard Marathons are pretty tough so that seems weird. What kind of punctures are you getting? Pinch flats or cuts?

    Couple of ideas to bear in mind:
    Are you running sensible tire pressures? e.g. at very least 40PSI
    Is your rim or rim tape damaged, are there are sharp burs in your rims etc?
    Are there pointy things stuck in your tires that are just repeatedly puncturing tubes?

    I can’t answer your original question (I come from the other direction and haven’t managed to ride in yet).

    BUT in terms of a solution I would suggest giving Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires a go if your bike is dedicated to commuting. Frankly they feel a bit wooden and weigh as much as a small car, BUT are nigh on indestructible.
