The new link\u00a0on Campus Road 8 is now open. The road (with cycle path) runs from Fermi Avenue, northwards, connecting\u00a0with Thomson Avenue, Rutherford Avenue and through to Currie Avenue, on the existing road.<\/p>\n
If you cycle in from Wantage\/Grove using route Sustrans route 544 this is good news if you need to get across the Campus. If you are cycling in from Didcot or\u00a0Abingdon it is a good alternative to cycling on the A4185. The cycle lane is on one side and is OK if you don’t mind getting off your cycle and crossing on foot at every junction. Unfortunately, there are\u00a0plenty of pointless ‘Cyclist Dismount’ signs. The speed and quantity of traffic using the road means that it should be safe and easy for cyclists to stay on the main carriageway.<\/p>\n
If you do use the road, be careful if you are turning right at the Road 8 \/ Fermi Avenue roundabout (by Diamond and RAL space), make sure you are seen by traffic coming down Fermi Avenue.<\/p>\n
