Oxfordshire Travel Challenge 2014

The Oxfordshire Travel Challenge starts on Monday 15th September until 12th October. So why not sign up to the challenge and encourage your colleagues to try cycling to work for the next few weeks, it’s all free!

This time their is an app (Android and iOS) you can download which will record your journey as you cycle or you can enter journey details on the website.

As you log your journeys you will be awarded Stravel points, a bit like Air Miles for cycles, which can be which can be exchanged for rewards.

Teams can be made up by inviting colleagues, but you will also be able to see results on an organisation basis.

It is good for HarBUG members and other Harwell cyclists to join in as it shows the organisers / sponsors (county and district councils) that there is cycle commuting happening in the South of the county.

When HarBUG last promoted the travel challenge in 2012, campus organisations ‘kicked ass’. STFC won the large organisation category and STFC-ISIS won the 250 -500 employee category with Diamond coming third (beat at the last minute by Oxfam). The organisation is different this time and we don’t know how results will be presented until it gets started.

So sign up, log your journeys, encourage others to do the same and get rewards for cycling to work!
