Didcot Orchard Centre Extension Response

The consultation for the Orchard Centre extension in Didcot closes on Wednesday. Please find a link to the proposed HarBUG response: HarBUG Response to Orchard Centre ExtensionThe document referred to in the response is the Transport Assessment Volume 1.

 

Generally we have two objections:

  • The proposed closure of the High Street link from Hitchcock Way to the Broadway.
  • The proposed cycle facilities are the very minimum they can get away with. The number of cycle spaces do not even meet the minimum required in the South Oxfordshire Local Plan!

      There are a few typos that need correcting, other than that I agree with the content. The provision of lockers in particular would be most welcome as this is one of the main reasons I do not currently cycle to the Orchard Centre.
