Campus Cycle to Work Day – 20th April

Don’t forget this Wednesday is the HarBUG Campus Cycle to Work Day and the weather forecast is for sunny weather.

This is a great time to re-start cycling to work after the Winter months or get some New Year resolutions back on track.

Please support the Cycle to Work day and show that cycling is a serious transport alternative to the Campus and deserves / needs good infrastructure and facilities.

If you can join one of the escorted cycle rides into the campus, please do. The rides may be a slower pace, a different route or at a different time but we are encouraging new cyclists so having experienced cyclists in the group helps give confidence to new riders.

If you are cycling in on Wednesday, do call in at the Harwell Pavilion and say hello. There is a free breakfast bap and hot drink available (sponsored by Magnox). If you don’t have time to stay for a breakfast please call by and sign in.

Fingers crossed for the weather.

Thanks for everybody who cycled in today, we had a record breaking 125 cyclists at the Harwell Pavilion. Apologies for anybody who did not get a breakfast, we did order extra because of the good weather but the numbers exceeded our expectations.
Some photos have been posted on our Facebook page.
Thanks to the ride leaders for running the escorted rides from the towns.
We hope this event has encouraged more people to give cycling to work a go.

HarBUG will be at the Vale of White Horse Council planning meeting tonight to voice our concerns about the access junctions at the planned Valley Park development.
