Didcot – LCWIP Consultation

Didcot’s local cycling and walking plan (LCWIP) is getting underway and a consultation has been started for open feedback about your views on cycling and walking in Didcot and the Greater Didcot area which includes Harwell Campus and many villages surrounding Didcot. The consultation is open until midnight on Sunday 19th March.

This is a great opportunity to get you views recorded. If somebody has already made a comment that you were planning to make, either duplicate the message with your views or respond to their comments so that the consultation takes into account the quantity of comments for a particular issue.

The consultation is live here:  https://app.placechangers.co.uk/s/312

HarBUG is part of the LCWIP steering group and last Friday (24th February) we led a ‘cycle safari’ around Didcot for representatives of the County, Districts (South & Vale) and Town councils as well as the Didcot Garden Town team. This was similar to the exercise we carried out in June 2019 – not much has progressed since then, Didcot Cycle Review – June 2019

HarBUG has been part of the Abingdon LCWIP team, this has now been completed and passed by the County Council.

The Wantage & Grove LCWIP is also starting, HarBUG has representation on that steering group also.

If you have any questions about the LCWIP or views please contact us: web@harbug.org.uk

P.S. The LCWIP does not have any funding to carry out it’s projects, but if there is no LCWIP there are no opportunities to bid for funding when they become available either from developers or central Government.

Don’t forget the Didcot LCWIP consultation ends this Sunday (19th March).
It covers Didcot and the greater Didcot area including Harwell Campus.
Please take a few minutes to add any issues you have or improvements you would like to see to the interactive map.

      Thanks.
      Kevin Wilkinson
      HarBUG Chair
