With the construction work on site ramping up, have people noticed an increased level of HGVs on the surrounding roads? Yesterday I had one HGV give me minimal room, and another sat (@15-20mph) barely a cars length behind waiting to pass. I don’t know whether these were vehicles destined for Harwell or not. So I’m just wondering whether it might be an idea for Harbug to contact Harwell Oxford Property & Development office, or even the construction companies (e.g. Leadbitter/ Bouygues/ Willmott Dixon et al) direct about requesting that HGV drivers are briefed, for ‘reinforcement purposes’, about the need to take care to give the numerous cyclists around here the necessary room and respect. Thoughts?

I have noticed the increased HGV traffic myself, and I have witnessed cyclists getting impatient and trying to get around queueing HGV traffic in dangerous ways, at one occasion almost falling off the bicycle. Both cyclists and and HGVs should be on high alert.
