Magicshine Light?

I spoke too soon about having a big light!

Does anyone have a Magicshine light that I could borrow (for about 30s) to diagnose a problem with mine, now 2+ years old? I have either a dodgy battery lead, or a dodgy lead to the light unit, or a dodgy controller in the light unit. The online retailer will sell me a new part (or possibly attempt a repair), but first I need to find out which bit is causing the problem.

Meanwhile my homeward commute down the Winnaway has reverted to its pre-Magicshine hazardous state, and I’m keen to get back to the floodlighting that I’ve become accustomed to.
