Just a quick update on the Valley Park Roundabout – In a Vale of White Horse council planning meeting last night it was decided to defer giving planning permission to Valley Park. One of reasons for deferring permission was to see if the developers and County Council have explored other designs for the roundabout and put their findings into the public domain. HarBUG spoke at the meeting, as an objector, but it was clear nobody was happy with the roundabout design except for the developers (they just want to get on building) and the County Council officers. This is a good outcome but there is still work to do. We will be asking for an independent Traffic Engineer / Consultant to look at the junction and what can be achieved. We want to avoid this pause being a reason for the developers and County Council to justify their current design rather than looking at other ideas.
